No one has been on here, including me. *eyetwitch* it's so sad.
That being said, our final meeting for the year was quite enjoyable.

Officers may be holding meeting over summer break. Those who were elected officers should keep in contact with next year's presidents, myself and paraparalover. We should also be meeting at Otakon over the break.

I've been told the homecoming for next year will be on October 17th. After this year's fall out with the parade, I'm very excited and looking forward to next year's making up for all of the great effort that got plummeted this year. Although the theme hasn't been decided, no matter what I'm sure it'll rock. (I'll actually make sure it rocks.)

Umm... what else? Oh. Nobody reads this. I've been meaning to set up a website over the summer break, and hopefully a large section and the forum will be dedicated to it. This year was chaotic, but hopefully next year will be a blast!
Because this is the bento lair, I thought I'd put up some bento sites before I go out to leave right quick.

We will be discussing bento lunches along with further planning & the parapara lesson next meeting. (Oh... and LARP Mini-Nippon! What a cool idea, too!) Hopefully I should be coming back very soon. I'm very sorry I haven't been there, but I've heard how you all were and I can't describe how pleased with the club I am! Lacey and Joanna told me pretty much everyone participated and you guys got an incredible amount done. That's really fantastic, and I can't wait to come back to Nippon to work on things with you.
13th-Dec-2007 10:44 pm - HAY LOOK ITS AN UPDATE
whatever, relax
Party still Wednesday. Remember to bring supplies please.
And check the groupfusion page, ya bums. D=<
29th-Oct-2007 06:37 pm - It's been a long time!
Yes, finally! I'm sorry for the infrequent updates. But I'm finally going to put up a new language lesson for you guys. (It might not appear until Wednesday, since I'm pretty busy).

Clearly, you guys must be aware that a lot of things with the club recently fell apart, and none of them truly being our fault. The parade was cancelled (booing ensues on my behalf), and there was confusion regarding the float contest, and as of yet I'm not 100% sure as to what has happened with that. Most of this is due to the school and their own lack of communication and organization to us.
For those of you who worked your heads off on the float and put a lot of work into your costumes, THANK YOU!
Perhaps we can still wear them sometime. I propose the Winter Party to be a Costume Party.

On Wednesday we will be doing a review lesson/game, hopefully with prizes. We'll see. It should be a lot of fun, though! We'll be doing a new lesson before the game, of course. o_< And we'll see just how much you remember from previous lessons

The Wednesday's lesson will review:

VOWELS { a, i, u, e, o
Kanji Elements { hi tsuki hi mizu ki kin tsuchi "week"
Weekdays { nichiyoubi getsuyoubi kayoubi suiyoubi mokuyoubi kinyoubi doyoubi
Numbers { ichi ni san shi go roku shichi hachi kyuu jyuu

There will also be the following popculture lessons reviewed:

Basic J-Rock fashion cultures {
Visual Kei
Basic J-Pop fashion cultures {
Ganguro/Gonguro etc.

+ My Wednesday Lesson

So that's it. o_o; I'm out for now.
13th-Oct-2007 08:24 pm - Today, Hurray
Wow! Well this great! The float is looking SWEET thus far.
Next Saturday will be decora day, and the float should be done! And it'll be *wicked*!
We basically got most of the construction done today for the stage and most of the shopping for it, too.

I'm going to be:
*designing the back banner
*constructing two simple fake guitars (if those fail to be finished, blowups are our backups
*Working on the music mixing with  paraparalover *"urusai" banner for the club. Because, sadly, we apparently need it, after last meeting. I was also surprised and impressed by the turnout of people on there! Next Wednesday people will have to present their costumes, so we can discover our winners of the float Costume Contest. The three best non-officers who participated in Float Construction will be on the float, along with 5 of the officers. (sorry that we sound like float hogs DX But... er... gomenasai!) And... what else... OMG! Did I get sunburned? Gahhh! ...erm... Back to business. Next Wednesday we'll also try and at least have the songs we've got for the float for you guys to listen to. We actually tried to pick a pretty good blend of pop/rock songs. I actually held back, and there's only one rock song that's a full-and-pure-rock. (Yay metal!) Most of the music on the list is fun and has a beat, so it should be great fun for the parade. We'll also try and organize more of the bonfire, and decide whether or not we'll have candy on the float. So, that's it so far. Thanks to the club members who showed, you got so much done and were such a great help.
26th-Sep-2007 09:02 pm - First Meeting!
Well... the first Nippon Club meeting was pretty darned hyperactive, huh? It was a mess XD and we didn't get a lot done... but I was happy with it.

A whole lot of new faces and some loyal old ones! I'm so happy. I know I'm very bad about this, but I hope I get to know some of you more personally this year. I feel guilty when members say "hi" to me, and I don't know who you are. Maybe there should be something in particular you say so I know it's you, like with Lorraine. (But I don't remember what she told you all to say to her.)

SOOO... for any of you who are new to LJ (I got that impression... I really, really got that impression... one sign up.) on the top of the screen you should see a bar. Up there are the options "join this community" and "post to this community". I have to approve you so that you can become a member and post, but after that, you're free to do so so long as it's Nippon related.

OH! We found out what the salamander is. It's really the Five-Lined Skink. Isn't that funny that I discovered this today? Haha.

...That was out of nowhere. If you're looking for the first language lesson, scroll down on the left until you find "tags". Click on the tag "nihongopunch" to get the first language lesson.

Next week we'll be discussing the homecoming parade in full, including Lacey & I giving a full lesson on Japanese fashion & music. If you have any questions, please save them for the next meeting. We'll try and answer all of them.

We will also be working on cranking out the first of the ID cards. We'll see how that turns out.

Until then... I'll try and update the 4-panel sometime this week! Sorry that it's so LATE, but... you see, I have one of the most jammed schedules of all the officers... so please bear with me.

If you have any further questions that can't wait until the next meeting, go ahead and post them here or in the discussion thingy on the groupfusion page.
24th-Sep-2007 05:20 pm - I forgot...

I'm sorry... what are all the officer's grades again?

I.D. Card Checklist
   • All Members
   • Officers
        • Color
        • Doodle (Gomen... didn't mean to take so long with this.)

        • Picture/ Photo
        • Printed
        • Laminated

Also if any one has their pictures, please give them to Lorraine or I if you haven't already. I've picked one but it's nothing special. If you want to save us both some time, have the part of the picture you want in the ID cropped to width: 300 px height: 400 px.
Thanks! ^^;

Ex. Officer's Card (W/out crackdoodle that WILL be added ASAP.) (Yes, I know all of my pictures suck.)
24th-Sep-2007 02:57 pm(no subject)
whatever, relax
20th-Sep-2007 11:11 pm - Does your I.D. photo fail at life?

Because all of my I.D. photo attempt so far fail at life. If your I.D. photos fail at life, too, and you can't decide which failure you'd prefer people to stare at in wonder, then go ahead and post yours here, too.
...And if you don't, then like, I guess I'm just a loser who only takes bad photos.
I'm still going to take more, of course, (and I've decided they'll all be with my mini top hat... I love my mini top hat!), but here's the best of the worst thus far.

Oh, and these are all on the "regular member" template for the I.D.'s, btw.

19th-Sep-2007 10:27 pm - Post-Officer's Meeting
We got a lot done during the officer's meeting. (More than I expected at least.) I'm glad. This year, there will be a lot of changes for the better. I'm looking forward to the first meeting!
